Underbody Kia Borrego closed gray plastic, which emphasizes the properties of off-road vehicle.
While it is unclear whether or not there will be a 2011 Kia Borrego, if it is offered for sale, it should be largely unchanged from the 2009 model. Examples of 2009 Borrego models may still be available on dealer lots. This 7-passenger 4-door SUV uses traditional truck-type construction and comes in LX and EX trim levels. Power should come from a 276-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission or a 337-horsepower 4.6-liter V8 that mates to a 6-speed automatic. Both rear-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive could be offered, and 4WD would low-range gearing for off-roading.
LX V8s should be 4WD only. Safety features should include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front-side airbags, and curtain-side airbags. Available features may include an uplevel audio system, fold-flat 2nd- and 3rd-row seats, a navigation system, satellite radio, and a rearview camera. A power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, leather upholstery, and heated front seats should be available on the EX. Towing capacity is 5,000 pounds with the V6 and 7,500 pounds with the V8. This report is based on evaluations of the 2009 Kia Borrego.
